Taiwan - Day 5 (LongShan Temple, and on to Thailand!)

Last day in Taiwan. So sad. I really wish we could’ve stayed longer because it’s crazy fun there. I need to move back someday or something.

For our last day, like always, our primary goal was to make it the airport on time. Our flight wasn’t until 8pm so we were actually able to go do some things in the morning.

We went over to the Longshan temple and we all got our fortunes. They all seemed to be pretty accurate, and Anna’s was the best. It was completely spot on and it was really pretty special.

After the temple we went to get….shave ice!! We had shave ice almost every day in Taiwan. You pretty much have to because it’s so dang hot. I love it. There’s nothing like shave ice in Taiwan.

Some days we even had it twice. : D

We also went to check out an old-style street:

After that we just packed up and left. So sad. It was really great spending time with my parents, uncle and his family, friends from SongShan ward, and Ru and Melissa. Wow, I miss them all already and I’m writing this while we’re on our flight to Bangkok!!

It’s okay though. I’m stoked to go back to Thailand and I’m especially excited to spend time with my good friend, Art. He’s the man. Hopefully he’ll have time to hang out with us a bit.

(A few hours later)

Made it to Thailand! Art came and picked us up at the airport : D So nice. Then we dropped the girls off at the house and Art and I went to eat.

I learned something pretty funny about Thai culture: Everybody double parks. This is like Italy, but in Italy people honk the horn if they can't get out of their spot until someone comes down and moves their car. In Thailand everybody just leaves their car in neutral so that you can push cars out of the way and then back your car out!! Hahaha.

I thought that was totally hilarious.
