What a day!!! It basically takes a full day on the bus to get from Bangkok to Siem Reap.
Lei and I got to sit together and Anna got to make a new friend. He was a pretty interesting dude: 55 years old, tattoos that were done using bamboo in place of a needle, and he definitely did not get a visa at the border.
I took dramamine and fell asleep for most of it, but when I was conscious it seemed like weird stuff kept happening. That Russian guy next to Anna was a crack up!
Random American dude: "How did it feel to get a tattoo with bamboo?"
Russian guy: "GOOD"
Russian guy: "GOOD"
American dude: *nervous laughter*
In fact, the worst part of the trip was probably the border crossing. It wasn't too bad but we when we went to get our visa they wanted us to pay a bribe,,,,we weren't into that. So we played the little game of chicken where they make you wait before they're finally willing to give you your visa for the correct price. Haha. What a crazy country.
Cambodia.
Some guy came and gave us a free tuk-tuk ride to our hostel. Sometimes I get tired of bargaining, but sometimes I get stoked about it because you can get such great deals. We ended up getting a tuk tuk driver for the whole next day to take us around Angkor Wat for only $12!
Anna doing some bargaining. Cambodians loved her. It's like they have a sixth sense to recognize that she loves shopping.
Cambodians, always trapping Anna!
